Floot Moot

There’s been quite some flutey activity happening since my last post. The Stirling markets have been great, recently producing some very happy and excited new flute players, and I’ve been working on some really nice new flutes and new inspiration for carving and life in general. Kira and I have been up to expore north eastern New South Wales, coming into contact with beautiful people and stunning nature. Floot Moot have been weaving sound throughout the Adelaide hills including most recently at the Gumeracha Medieval Fair over the 1st and 2nd of May.

Making music for dancers is such a great exercise in flow and focus. Rather than the musicians just listening to each other and setting down our own story we all focus on the dancers and their story, by responding to their movement and emotion we hardly have to listen to each other as we’re playing the dancers tune and it all fits beautifully. The audience was so captivated and what the dancers and Floot Moot were creating together was energetic and harmonious.

Floot Moot has begun

Floot Moot at the Willunga Autumn Fair

Morgan Taubert, Hannah McNicol, Kira Sara, Dylan Sara, a whole bunch of Elder Flutes, drums, didgeridoo, voice, bells, bowls, magic. A new sound project transporting to a place where worlds meet, dreams become music and stories are told.

We played at the Willunga Waldorf School Autumn Fair last Saturday and the Stirling market on Sunday. The Stirling market is always a beautiful day where I also have my flutes for sale, and making music there may just have to become a regular occurence.

More news to come, and keep an eye out for us on facebook.

Floot Moot

We’ve just had a great jam with our four piece sound project Floot Moot creating some excitingly beautiful music. Hannah McNicol, Morgan Taubert, Kira Sara and myself, Dylan Sara, many various flutes, drum, didj, vocals, tinkly things, awesome. We’ll be playing thisweekend at the Willunga Waldorf autumn fair and at the Stirling Market.
