Floot Moot

There’s been quite some flutey activity happening since my last post. The Stirling markets have been great, recently producing some very happy and excited new flute players, and I’ve been working on some really nice new flutes and new inspiration for carving and life in general. Kira and I have been up to expore north eastern New South Wales, coming into contact with beautiful people and stunning nature. Floot Moot have been weaving sound throughout the Adelaide hills including most recently at the Gumeracha Medieval Fair over the 1st and 2nd of May.

Making music for dancers is such a great exercise in flow and focus. Rather than the musicians just listening to each other and setting down our own story we all focus on the dancers and their story, by responding to their movement and emotion we hardly have to listen to each other as we’re playing the dancers tune and it all fits beautifully. The audience was so captivated and what the dancers and Floot Moot were creating together was energetic and harmonious.
